Although i’m reluctant towards modernism, i can’t help but to notice i’m acutely Heideggerian (while my theological heroes are all catholic). Contextual hermeneutics embraces the fact that i’m participatory in the process of portraiture. I’m simply not witnessing and taking notes. I’m not presenting mere facts about the portrayed subject, whether they have long or short hair, whether they frown or not. But i’m likewise telling a story about myself, about society at large, about socio-economical undercurrents.
